March Swim Clinics are just around the corner. The clinics are open to all swimmers ages 9 and up. Swimmers must be able to swim 2 laps (short course) unassisted to participate. The clinics will be held on the following Sundays:
March 9th – Freestyle
March 16th – Backstroke
March 23rd – Breaststroke
March 30th – Butterfly/Turns
The clinics will start at 1 pm and will end at 2:30 pm. All swimmers will start in the classroom where they will receive classroom instruction on the stroke of the day and then will head to the pool for in the water practice. Swimmers will be divided into groups on the pool deck based on ability. Please arrive early as each swimmer will be required to fill out a registration card and make payment. The cost of the clinics is $10 per swimmer for each clinic or $30 per swimmer for all 4 clinics. We will accept cash and check, sorry no credit cards. Please make checks payable to Woodland Wreckers.
Beginning Monday, January 6, 2014 swim team registration will be open to RETURNING WRECKERS ONLY. This is to give our existing swimmers a chance to secure their spot on the team. As you may remember, we had to close registration early last year due to the cap from pool overcrowding. We will be capping the numbers again this year at 130, so if you would like to swim, register early!
Registration fees: $155 ($110 team fee + $45 suit/cap fee)
In addition to your normal registration at The Community Center, you also must fill out the online form with Norcal swim league. This year they have instituted a $15.00 fee per swimmer.
February 3rd – March 7th will open General registration for new swimmers. This is your chance to invite a friend. The Community Services Department (formerly Parks & Rec) will be hosting the 2nd Annual Rexpo on Friday, March 7th at the Community Center (2001 East Street). This will be the last chance to register at the $155 fee. After that, the fee goes up $15.00.
Registration (if not already full) will be closed April 11th.
A couple things you should know:
Swimmers will be required to swim 25 yards (one lap) unassisted to be able to join the team. There will be a two week trial time for new swimmers to determine ability level.
Swimmers will be required to compete in a minimum of 2 swim meets and 1 day at Champs. This is a team and we would like everyone to experience the full effect of the team efforts and accomplishments.

Our pool is finally getting a much needed and long overdue face lift! Work began on August 12, 2013 to resurface the pool and deck. They sure got right down to business! This is very exciting and we can hardly wait for the reopening! We will take pictures along the way and continue to post and keep everyone updated on the progress.
